The
Best in Nation Finalists for the
Verizon App Challenge were announced today. Congratulations to all the winners, not only of the Best in Nation, but
Best in State, and
Best in Region. Middle school and high school teams from around the nation developed ideas for apps that addressed a need in their school or community. They wrote essays describing their design process, their apps functionality, and its potential impact or outcome. In addition, each team produced a 3 minute video describing the app and its impact.
Best in Nation Team Winners receive a $15,000 grant to build the app from their winning design and to enhance STEM education at their schools or site. MIT App Inventor Master Trainers will be working with the nine national finalists in person and virtually to develop their app over the next few months. Winning teams will present their apps at the TSA National Conference in Nashville, TN, in June.
